About Tim Murray
Although Tim Murray is known in the area as a singer/songwriter, he founded Detroit Tracks Records in 1983, at the same time Detroit radio stations were playing his single, 'Thinking of You.'
The reach of the internet and the public's ongoing love for Detroit music have once again brought Detroit Tracks Records - and Tim Murray - to the forefront of the Motor City music scene.
Most recently, Tim re-mastered and re-released some of his most-requested tracks. He has also been performing at area venues from private parties and church and charity functions to restaurants, clubs, senior residences and civic gatherings - such as 4th of July and Memorial Day patriotic programs.
Tim has a following around the world, especially England. He was asked to perform at the most recent 'Detroit A Go-Go' event, attended by hundreds of English fans of Detroit music who came to Detroit and spent a week immersed in the enjoyment of its musical history. Tim and his single, 'Thinking of You,' were the featured artist/Record-of-the-Week on England's Acacia Radio, and his 45rpm records are collected by enthusiasts around the globe.
Along with writing, recording and performing, Tim's passion is to continue to do his part to be a 'keeper-of-the-flame' of Motor City music.​

When Tim and Honey Murray perform for audiences all around the Metro Detroit area, it’s almost as if Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gourmet are together on stage – except that Tim might be singing anything from a Bobby Darin or Frank Sinatra standard to a Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Fats Domino, Nat King Cole, Temptations, Beatles or Elvis classic, and you might hear Honey delighting audiences with “Itsy, Bitsy, Teeny, Weeny, Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini” and “Mambo Italiano” or other favorites from the past such as “What a Difference a Day Makes,” “Blue Skies,” “The Very Thought of You,” “My Guy,” “Misty” or “Summertime...”
The Murrays are in demand for fundraising and corporate events, retirement parties, wedding cocktail hours and family celebrations of all kinds. Tim is also an engaging emcee who assists with announcements, introductions, and even raffle sales with warmth and ease.
